Jerith Driveway & Pavers: The Fort Worth Owner’s Guide
We stock and install Jerith-compatible driveway gates, operators, and paver support hardware across Fort Worth, with most repairs running between $450 and $2,800 installed depending on what failed. The typical call comes in one of two ways: either the gate has stopped opening cleanly and you’re hearing a grind or a screech every time it cycles, or a section of pavers has settled so badly the gate’s post is now leaning and the latch won’t line up. Here’s the truth about Jerith equipment in Texas: the gate hardware is generally solid, but the soil it sits in is not, and neither is the heat. That combination is what brings most Jerith driveway owners to our phone.
Curtis Lane has seen the full range of Jerith installations across Fort Worth, from aluminum estate gates off Rivercrest Drive to basic steel walk-through frames near Benbrook. His crew doesn’t guess at part numbers, and we don’t pad the scope when the real fix is a simple hinge swap. What we do is identify the failed component, price it in writing, and install it the same visit.
Which Jerith Models This Applies To

Jerith’s residential line breaks down into three main families: the Estate series (heavy aluminum with welded pickets, typically 6 to 8 feet tall), the Regal series (mid-weight aluminum, flat-top or arched), and the Grand series (steel frame with aluminum infill, occasionally sold as a lower-cost option). Each series uses different hinge designs and post dimensions, so the part number matters. The single biggest compatibility gotcha we see in Fort Worth is this: Jerith changed their hinge bolt pattern between pre-2012 and post-2012 frames. A hinge from a 2011 Estate gate will not drop onto a 2014 frame without drilling, and drilling aluminum gate stiles near the weld line is exactly where stress cracks start.
If you’re trying to identify your gate model, look for the Jerith nameplate near the latch side of the inner frame, usually riveted below the mid-rail. If the plate is gone, measure the picket spacing and the stile width. Estate pickets run 3/4 inch square on 4-7/8 inch centers. Regal pickets are 5/8 inch on 4 inch centers. Grand-series frames have visible weld seams at the corners, where Estate and Regal use hidden corner keys.
On the OEM-versus-aftermarket question for Jerith parts specifically: hinges and latch bars should be OEM or a direct-match machined equivalent. These are load-bearing, high-cycle components. Aftermarket hinges with looser tolerances will bind within a season and accelerate wear on the gate’s lower corner. Springs, rollers, and plastic guide bushings, by comparison, are commodity items, and we often install quality aftermarket equivalents that outlast the factory pieces in Texas heat.

Signs Your Jerith Driveway & Pavers Are Failing
- The gate sags and scrapes the driveway at the latch corner. This is almost always hinge wear or a post that’s rotating in disturbed soil. Jerith gate panels are heavy, and a hinge with even 1/16 inch of play reads as a two-inch sag at the far end. The scrape you hear is aluminum grinding concrete, which removes material from the bottom rail every cycle.
- The posts lean toward each other or away from the gate. In Fort Worth’s expansive Blackland Prairie clay, post footings get shoved around by moisture swings. A post set in a 12-inch sonotube with a shallow base will move seasonally. We see gates that open fine in October and bind by March, driven by soil movement, not gate failure.
- Paver sections around the gate posts sink or spread. If the pavers are part of the driveway apron under the gate’s swing path, settling creates a low spot that catches the gate. The gate then has to be adjusted upward, which leaves an uneven gap at the bottom. This is a driveway and gate problem together, not separately.
- The latch binds or won’t fully seat without lifting the gate. Most Jerith latches are the gravity-latch design. When the gate sags even slightly, the latch tongue hits the striker plate low and won’t drop in. Forcing it closed compounds the hinge wear and eventually cracks the stile around the latch mount.
- You hear a metallic popping sound when the gate opens. In welded steel-framed Jerith models, this is typically a stress point releasing where the lower rail meets the hinge-side stile. It starts as a sound, then becomes a visible crack. In aluminum models, a pop usually means a hinge barrel has galled and is catching internally.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

In Fort Worth, a Jerith gate hinge replacement with parts and labor runs $250 to $600 per pair, depending on the series and whether we need to field-drill or reinforce the stile. A full latch assembly swap is $180 to $400. If the post has moved and needs to be re-set in a deeper footing, that is heavier work: $900 to $2,800 when it includes cutting around the existing concrete or paver apron, excavating to below the clay line, re-pouring the footing, and re-hanging the gate. Driveway paver re-leveling around gate posts runs $1,200 to $3,500 depending on square footage and whether the sub-base needs excavation or just additional compacted fill.
Every one of those numbers is a written price before we start. No door-knock repricing, no change orders unless the scope genuinely changes and we put that in writing too. Our paver and gate work carries the same 365-Day Done Right Promise as our remodeling projects: if the repair fails within a year, we return and correct it at no charge. That is the Garrison Standard in practice, written on every quote.
DIY or Call Us?
There are things you can safely check before calling. Confirm the gate’s movement issue is the gate, not the operator: disconnect the opener arm and swing the panel by hand. If it still binds, the problem is mechanical, not electrical. You can also inspect the pavers immediately around the posts for obvious sinkage and check that the hinges’ fasteners are not visibly backed out or stripped. What you should not do is unbolt a Jerith hinge from a loaded gate panel. These are full-sized gate sections, some weighing 300 pounds or more, and when the last hinge bolt comes free, that panel is a falling object with a lever arm. Same goes for post replacement: you are working near the gate’s swing path, and you are working with concrete set around a structural element that was engineered for a specific load. That is the line where we tell people to stop and call us at (682) 204-4897.

FAQs

OEM Jerith hinges on residential gates typically hold up for 10 to 15 years in Texas, but Fort Worth’s clay soil and summer heat take two to three years off posts and hinges compared to cooler, sandier markets. Aluminum gate panels themselves can easily reach 25 years. What fails first in this market is almost never the panel; it is the hinge, the latch, or the footing.
Most of the time, yes. If the base has not fully eroded and the pavers themselves are not cracked, we can lift the affected section, re-compact or add base material, and re-set the same pavers. Full re-installation is only necessary when the base has washed out or the pavers have shifted so much that the original pattern cannot be restored cleanly. We’ll tell you which one you need, in writing, before any work begins. Call (682) 204-4897 for a free estimate.
A hinge or latch replacement on a Jerith gate takes 90 minutes to two hours on site. Post re-setting with a new footing takes a full day, plus 48 to 72 hours of cure time before we re-hang the panel. Paver re-leveling around gates runs half a day to a full day depending on the area.
We carry common Jerith-compatible hinges, latches, and bracket hardware on our Fort Worth trucks, including post-2012 Estate and Regal pattern matches. Less common Grand-series weldments and some custom swing components have to be ordered, which adds three to five business days. We’ll tell you before we schedule whether the fix is same-visit or a follow-up. Call (682) 204-4897 to talk through what you’re seeing.
