Cover Driveway & Pavers: The Fort Worth Owner’s Guide
We stock and install Cover-compatible driveway and paver systems in Fort Worth, with typical installed pricing falling between $3,500 and $18,000 depending on matériel square footage, paver grade, and what’s underneath. Most driveway replacements run $5,000 to $14,000 in this market, and a paver patio is usually $3,500 to $11,000. The calls we get start the same way: a paver has shifted and now the edge is crumbling, a drainage channel is pooling after rain, or the surface has settled so badly a car door scrapes on the high side. You don’t always need a full tear-out. Sometimes it’s a failed base layer under one section, and that’s a different price than a whole-lot replacement. Bring us a photo and the rough square footage, and we’ll give you a written number.
Which Cover Models This Applies To
Cover produces modular paver and driveway surfacing systems, and the compatibility question is less about a model number and more about the underlying base. If your existing installation is a Cover paver grid system, interlocking tile, or permeable driveway tile, we can match it. The critical spec is cell depth: Cover grids commonly run 1-inch to 2-inch cell profiles, and matching the replacement tile to the existing grid profile is what keeps a patch job from looking like a patch. Check the underside of a loose tile for a molded-in part number or dimensional code. If that’s worn off, measure across the flat from outside edge to outside edge and count the cells per square foot. The other question is OEM versus aftermarket. Cover’s OEM pavers are dimensionally consistent, which matters when you’re splicing into an existing field. Some aftermarket equivalents are close, but a 1/8-inch difference in cell width compounds across a 20-foot run and you’ll see the drift. We’ll show you the difference on site before anything gets ordered.

Signs Your Cover Driveway & Pavers Is Failing
- Edge crumbling at the border. This is the most common first failure in Fort Worth’s clay-heavy soil. The base at the perimeter wasn’t restrained, and vehicle weight pushed the edge outward until the tile lip snapped. A new edge restraint usually stops further spread.
- Water ponding in low spots. If water stands for more than an hour after rain, the base has settled unevenly underneath the Cover grid. In North Texas, the freeze-thaw cycle in January and February accelerates this once water gets under the tile and expands.
- Paver rocking underfoot. A tile that tips when you step on it means the sand or aggregate fill below that cell has washed out. Left alone, the surrounding tiles start working loose too.
- Surface cracking across the tile field. Not the grid itself but the Cover surface layer showing hairline fractures usually means the base flex is exceeding what the tile was rated for. This is common in Fort Worth driveways where a heavy truck parks on the same two tracks daily.
- Weeds or grass pushing through the joints. Seed germination in the joint material means the joint sand is depleted and not doing its job. Pull the weed and more follow unless the joints are refilled and compacted.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included
For Fort Worth, a full paver driveway installation using Cover-compatible tile runs $7,000 to $18,000. A concrete driveway install is $4,500 to $12,000, and if you’re simply replacing a driveway that’s past saving, the range is $5,000 to $14,000. What moves the number: square footage, base condition, whether we’re hauling off failed base or building new, and your paver selection. The written price from Bradford Remodeling Co Fort Worth includes the tear-out, base preparation, paver installation, joint material, and site cleanup. No number changes at the door. Every paver and driveway project we complete carries the 365-Day Done Right Promise: if the work fails inside a year, we return and correct it at no charge. That’s in writing before the first shovel goes in the ground.

You can safely check the obvious: look for a molded part number on the underside of a loose tile, measure the square footage of the affected area, and note where water is pooling. What you shouldn’t attempt is pulling up a large section of Cover grid without addressing the base below it. The danger with driveway systems is not the surface, it’s what you can’t see: a failed sub-base in Fort Worth’s expansive clay requires excavation to 6 to 8 inches, fresh aggregate, and mechanical compaction. Do that wrong and the new pavers will settle within one season. If you’ve got a 40-square-foot patio that shifted, that might be a weekend repair with the right skill set. If your car is bottoming out on a settled drive lane, that’s a rebuild. Call (682) 204-4897 and describe what you’re seeing. We’ll tell you honestly whether it’s a patch or a full replacement.
FAQs

A correctly installed Cover driveway system with a properly compacted base should last 20 to 25 years in the Fort Worth climate, with joint sand refreshed every few years. The tile itself degrades slowly; the base is what usually fails first, especially in areas where clay soil expands and contracts through our wet-dry cycles.
Yes, in most cases we can lift the affected tiles, correct the base compaction, and re-set the same field, which keeps the project in a much lower price range. If the settle is widespread, it’s usually cheaper per square foot to replace the whole system. Call (682) 204-4897 for a written price on either scope.
A typical Fort Worth residential driveway runs 3 to 5 working days from tear-out through final compaction and joint sanding. Rain delays are the main variable, and we build that into the schedule up front so you know the plan before we start.
We keep the most common Cover grid profiles and border pieces in our Fort Worth inventory, so a small patch job can often be done the same week. For larger runs or less common tile series, we order direct from the distributor and have the material on site within a few days.
