CertainTeed Kitchen Remodeling: The Fort Worth Owner’s Guide

We stock and install kitchen remodeling packages built around CertainTeed-backed materials in Fort Worth, with most full CertainTeed kitchen remodels running $14,000 to $45,000 installed. If you’re here because a CertainTeed product you already own has failed, whether it’s delaminated cabinet laminate, a cracked solid surface panel, or a seam that’s opened up, we’ll match the replacement to the original spec and have it priced in writing before any work starts. In our experience, most Fort Worth homeowners discover the problem the hard way: a drawer face pops loose, a counter seam separates near the dishwasher, or a backsplash tile falls off and the substrate behind it crumbles when you touch it.

We’re an independent Fort Worth remodeling contractor, not a CertainTeed affiliate or warranty agent. That distinction matters because it means we can source whatever part actually fits your kitchen, not just what a single product line dictates.

Which CertainTeed Models This Applies To

New painted shaker cabinets with an organized deep drawer

CertainTeed makes two product families that show up most often in Fort Worth kitchens: Restoration Millwork trim and moulding, and their vinyl and composite panel systems used for cabinet exteriors, wainscoting, and backsplash substrates. The compatibility gotcha most homeowners hit is this: Restoration Millwork profiles are not interchangeable across generations. A 2010-era cove moulding profile will not seat cleanly against a 2020-era baseboard from the same line. The die patterns changed. If you’re matching a partial failure, photograph the profile with a coin in frame for scale and measure the face width before you order anything.

The second decision is OEM versus a quality aftermarket equivalent. For visible trim and moulding that has to match existing runs, go OEM. The color, the sheen, the profile dimensions are exact, and in a Fort Worth kitchen with strong afternoon light from a west-facing window, a near-match reads as a mismatch. For hidden structural components, cabinet side panels, filler strips, and substrate material, a furniture-grade aftermarket equivalent is usually the better buy. You get the same performance without paying the brand premium.

One more thing worth knowing: CertainTeed’s panel products are milled for interior climate ranges. Fort Worth swings from 105-degree summers to winter nights in the teens, and homes here run air conditioning hard. That thermal cycling is exactly what causes laminated panel edges to lift. We account for that when we install, leaving the proper expansion allowances so the new panel doesn’t fail the same way the old one did.

Signs Your CertainTeed Kitchen Remodeling Is Failing

  • Lifting laminate edges on cabinet doors or drawer fronts. The adhesive layer breaks down from heat and humidity cycling, especially on panels near the oven or dishwasher. Once the edge lifts, moisture gets under it and the delamination accelerates.
  • Split or cracked countertop seams. Solid surface and laminate seams fail when the substrate beneath them moves. In Fort Worth slab homes, seasonal soil movement is real, and a seam that opens near the sink indicates the cabinet box has shifted more than the seam allowance could handle.
  • Loose or popping backsplash tile with crumbling adhesive behind it. This is almost never a tile problem. It’s a substrate failure. The drywall or backer board behind the tile has absorbed moisture and lost its bond. Replacing the tile without fixing the substrate gets you the same failure in 18 months.
  • Drawer glides that bind or pull free from the cabinet side. The mounting screws have worked loose in the particleboard. Once the holes strip, the fix is not a longer screw. It’s a new drawer box or side panel.
  • Moulding joints that open up or crown away from the wall. Restoration Millwork trim is stable, but the framing behind it isn’t always. When drywall moves, the trim reveals it. If the joint opened more than an eighth of an inch, the wall behind it needs attention before new trim goes on.

Any one of these on its own is a warning. Two or more usually means the kitchen was originally installed without proper moisture barriers or expansion allowances, and chasing individual failures will keep you busy forever. We’ll tell you that straight. Curtis Lane has walked into Fort Worth kitchens where the homeowner had paid three different handymen to fix the same seam before calling us.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

A small remodeled galley kitchen with cabinets to the ceiling

In Fort Worth, a full CertainTeed kitchen remodel runs $14,000 to $45,000 depending on scope. A smaller kitchen with basic cabinet refacing and new laminate counters lands at the low end. A full gut with new cabinet boxes, solid surface or stone counters, backsplash, and Restoration Millwork trim throughout lands at the top. The range is driven by linear footage of countertop, number of cabinet boxes, and whether you’re replacing substrate or working with what’s already there.

Scope Fort Worth Installed Price
Full kitchen remodel (CertainTeed materials) $14,000 – $45,000
Small kitchen remodel $9,000 – $20,000
Cabinet installation $4,000 – $13,000
Countertop installation $2,000 – $6,500
Backsplash installation $800 – $2,500
Kitchen island installation $3,000 – $10,000

Every quote includes parts, labor, disposal, and a written line-item price before we start. The 365-Day Done Right Promise covers the completed work for a full year. If anything we installed fails inside that window, we return and correct it at no charge. That’s The Garrison Standard, and it’s in writing every time. Some Fort Worth remodelers will tell you their work speaks for itself. We put the guarantee in your hand instead.

DIY or Call Us?

What you can safely check yourself: run your hand along laminate edges to feel for lift, inspect caulk lines around the sink for gaps, and press on backsplash tile to find loose pieces. None of that requires tools, and it helps you describe the problem accurately when you call.

What you should not attempt yourself is any repair that involves removing cabinets, cutting into wall substrate, or re-setting countertop seams. The countertop seam work involves adhesives that cure fast and require precise alignment. Get it wrong and you’re paying for a new panel, not a repair. Cabinet removal near plumbing and electrical rough-ins can turn a $500 fix into a $3,000 problem in an afternoon. If you’re in Fort Worth and you’re not sure which side of the line your job falls on, call (682) 204-4897 and describe what you’re seeing. We’ll tell you honestly if it’s a homeowner job or a call-us job, and the estimate is free either way.
